Yaw Yeboah scores in Columbus Crew thrashing of Loudoun in US Open Cup
Yaw Yeboah, a former Ghanaian youth star, played a key role in Columbus Crew’s dominant performance in the US Open Cup round of 32 against Loudoun United on Wednesday night, scoring a goal to inspire his side to a 5-1 victory.
Yeboah’s early strike in the 6th minute gave Crew an early advantage at the Segra Field in Leesburg, and their momentum was further boosted when Ivorian defender Gaoussou Samake was sent off for Loudoun just four minutes later.

Crew midfielder Sean Zawadzki doubled the lead in the 18th minute, and Isaiah Parente scored two goals in quick succession in the 24th and 27th minutes to increase the lead. Christian Ramirez added another goal for Crew before halftime.
Yeboah was replaced by Jimmy Medranda, a Colombian defender, at the start of the second half. Loudoun managed to score a consolation goal from a penalty kick with four minutes remaining in the match.
Yeboah has now scored two goals and provided an assist in 13 appearances across all competitions for Crew since the start of the 2023 season.
