Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has set sights on a seventh FIFA World Cup finals appearance.
Musa believes Nigeria will dig deep to grab a good result against Ghana in the first leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off.The two giants of Africa have been drawn against each other in the final qualifying round for the World Cup in Qatar scheduled for November this year.
The first leg will be played on March 24 in Cape Coast with the Nigerians hosting the return that will take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
“The FIFA World Cup is the biggest football tournament in the world, and every player wants to feature there. A good number of the players in the team now have not been there, and the few of us that have been there want to experience it again,” Musa said in a virtual meeting on Tuesday.

“We just want the NFF to help us get enough fans into the Abuja Stadium for the second leg. We will go to Ghana and dig our feet and ensure we get a result. We must admit that Ghana also want to qualify and they have a strong team. The return leg will be crucial and we are ready for the battle, but we want our fans to be in there cheering us on.”
Nigeria were at the last World Cup in Russia where Musa scored his third and fourth goals. Only Asamoah Gyan has scored more goals (6) at the World Cup than Musa.
