Former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi has appealed for the right players to be invited to the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
This comes after the BlackStar’s shambolic outing in the just-ended 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying series.
In the end, the BlackStars failed to qualify for the tournament slated for Morocco for the first in 20 years.

However, the former GFA President believes that by inviting the right players for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025 things can sway better for the country.
“I don’t think all is lost but we have to fix it,” Mr Nyantakyi told Lawson FM.
“We have World Cup qualifiers in March against Chad and Madagascar but I believe that the right players will have to be called for the games.
“It should not be the normal call-ups but players who are ready and dedicated to play for the country and the shirt,” he added.
