Lawrence Agyekum made his long-awaited debut for the Black Stars against Chad on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The BlackStars played their hearts out to ensure that they beat Chad to palp in a domineering display in front of packed home supporters.

Agyekum was introduced in the 83rd minute of the game to replace Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey.
His introduction in the dying embers of the game brought steel, agility, and creativity to the heart of midfield as he partnered with his club teammate, Francis Abu.
The 21-year-old wasn’t overalled by the masses present as he played with so much confidence much to the excitement of many who are relishing he gets more game time with the BlackStars.
Agyekum was one of three players, Christopher Bonsu Baah and Benjamin Asare, who got a call-up to the BlackStars.

He will hope to play a pivotal role when the team plays Madagascar in Morocco three days later.
