I want to play for Asante Kotoko – Diawisie Taylor
In-form Karela United striker, Diawisie Taylor, has declared his intentions to join Asante Kotoko should there be an offer for him.
The 19-year-old, who emerged as the joint top scorer alongside Asante Kotoko’s Abdul Fatawu Shafiu with ten goals, tells Kotoko Express App he is ready to wear the red jersey.
Taylor has become one of the most sought-after players in the country, following his exploits in the Normalisation Committee’s Special Competitions.
Asante Kotoko beat Taylor’s club at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday to lift the Tier One Cup, and also qualify for next season’s Champions League, and are keen to sign the player as they look to boost the squad ahead of the CAF competition.
But marching them in that pursuit is Ashantigold who face Nzema Kotoko in the Tier Two Cup final for the ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup.
Taylor tells Asante Kotoko App he prefers a move to Kumasi, but admits that the decision is his club’s to make.
“I would love to play for Asante Kotoko if I get the opportunity,” confirms the striker
“However, the decision is not mine to take but the management of my current club. Asante Kotoko is a big club, and I will gladly accept the chance to play for them.”
Taylor was disappointed over his team’s loss to the Porcupines, and his inability to score on the day, but acknowledges that they lost to a better side.
“I am disappointed that my team couldn’t win the trophy for us to go to Africa”, says Taylor. “I am also in my inability to score on Sunday. Kotoko have a good team and are not an easy side to just push over, but I am pleased with my performance.”
The youngster has been tagged as a goal machine after scoring 22 times for Karela United in the Division One.
