United States Soccer and US Womens National Team have reached a settlement in their six-year fight over equal pay.
The players will receive $24M, and USSF has promised to equalize pay between the men’s and women’s national teams for all competitions, including the World Cup.
The $24 million equal pay settlement will be finalized once the U.S. women’s team and U.S. Soccer ratify a new CBA.
The two sides recently extended the current women’s deal through March 31.
In settling the suit, USWNT members will receive a lump-sum payment of $22 million.
U.S. Soccer will also put $2 million towards players’ post-career goals and charitable efforts related to women’s and girls’ soccer.
Each player can apply for up to $50,000 from that fund.
