U-23 AFCON: Emmanuel Yeboah wins Man of The Match Award after scoring brace in Ghana’s victory over Congo
Emmanuel Yeboah showcased his impressive skills and technique in an exciting U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match between Ghana and Congo, earning him the well-deserved Man of the Match recognition.
Although the first half of the game was lackluster, the second half turned into a thrilling spectacle that led Ghana to a stunning victory.
During halftime, Ghana strategically substituted Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Silvester Simba with Yeboah and Hafiz Ibrahim, a decision that would prove to be crucial.

Yeboah made an immediate impact as soon as he stepped onto the field. Just five minutes into the second half, he delivered a brilliant assist to Ernest Nuamah, who expertly converted it, giving Ghana the lead in the 50th minute.
This goal injected renewed energy into the Ghanaian team and firmly placed them in control of the match.
In the 75th minute, Yeboah showcased his composure and clinical finishing abilities by scoring Ghana’s second goal.
Later on, in an intriguing turn of events, Ghana was awarded a penalty that Edmund Arko Mensah initially missed. Interestingly, another opportunity arose when the goalkeeper was penalized for leaving his line too early.
However, Mensah missed the second attempt as well, with the goalkeeper repeating the same mistake. Stepping up confidently, Yeboah brilliantly converted the third attempt, securing his brace and sealing Ghana’s remarkable triumph.
Despite a late response from the Congolese, who scored two quick goals in stoppage time, Ghana held on to secure all three points.
Yeboah stood out as the player of the match due to his exceptional effort and significant contributions throughout the game.
