Togbe Afede XIV, Delali Senaya and others to serve on Premier League committee

The 18 Ghana Premier League clubs have resoundingly chosen their three representatives that will form a five-member committee.

The aim of this about to be set up committee will be to advise the Executive Council of the Ghana Premier League (GPL), autonomous league.

The three include Togbe Afede XIV, Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Denali Seneya, Chief Executive Officer of Inter Allies, and John Ansah of Ebusua Dwarfs.

This committee comes in force after the Football Association (GFA) decided to make the GPL autonomous hence the need for the creation of a committee to oversee the new line of action.

Mr. Kurt E.S Okraku, President of GFA in a Facebook post wrote, “Yesterday, I attended a meeting of all the 18 Premier League clubs where I affirmed the desire of the council to have an independently managed Ghana Premier league.

“It is a promise we made to our clubs, and it is a promise we intend to fulfill. Happily, the meeting also decided and choose three of our own members; Togbe Afede XIV Board Chairman of Hearts of Oak, Denali Seneya, CEO of Inter Allies and Brother John Ansah of Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs to serve on a proposed five-man team to work on the modalities for an independently managed GPL.

“They will be joined by a yet to be named two reps from the FA. I really wish the team well.”

The ExCo of the GFA will also have to name their two representatives to complement the five-member committee.

The bid to make the Premier League autonomous has been a long harbored dream under previous administrations, hopefully, the Mr. Okraku led era will make this dream a reality.
