Special Competition: Kotoko grab controversial win against Aduana
Asante Kotoko beat Aduana Stars 1-0 in Kumasi thanks to an early goal by Abass Mohammed.
Despite their victory, everyone has been questioning referee Daniel Laryea’s decision to rule out clear equalizer by striker Yahaya Mohammed.
Yahaya was on an onside position when he pounced on Samuel Bio’s low shot to put the ball back of the net but the linesman flagged it for an offside.
Many thought the goal should have stood considering the fact that there was a Kotoko player behind him.
Aduana possessed the game but couldn’t find a breakthrough, Abass Mohammed’s goal made sure Kotoko grab all three points in the competition’s opener.
