Sellas Tetteh parts ways with Sierra Leone

Sellas Tetteh has resigned from his role as head coach of the Sierra Leone national team.




The former Ghanaian trainer tendered in his resignation to the Sierra Leone Football Association President which was received with a mixed reaction from the top ranks of football in the country.

A close source to the Ghanaian said he pulled breaks on his job citing personal reasons as to why he is quitting the job.

This is his second stint with the side after managing them from 2015 – 2017 before joining them the second time running in August 2019.

The former Ghana assistant coach managed only one win in four games he was in charge in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications, he lost twice and drew the other.

He has since managed sides in Rwanda and other local clubs in Ghana as well as the national football teams high on his success list was with the u20 side winning the world cup in Egypt, 2009.
