Hearts of Oak legend Sam Johnson has challenged the players to prove their worth against AS Real Bamako in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The former Ghana Premier League giants were battered beyond recognition in the first-leg tie and are expected to overturn the deficit or face possible elimination from the competition.
But in a recent media interview, Sam Johnson, a former Phobians player, has challenged the players to play above their normal weight levels ahead of the return fixture in Accra this weekend.
“This is the time the players have to show what they have because, from the start of the season, things didn’t go well,
“They have to show it this time, they can do it, Hearts of Oak have done it before so everyone needs to support them, Let’s not also forget our motto that “Never Say Die, until the bones are rotten,” he told he told Accra-based Radio Gold.
Hearts are Ghana’s only hope in the African inter-continental club competition and would have to overturn that 3 – 0 deficit should they want to make it to the next round.
Accra Sports Stadium will host the duel between Hearts and Bamako at 3:00 pm.
