Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has spelled out the importance of the BlackStars’ securing qualification for the 2026 World Cup qualification.
The Minister likened the need to secure qualification to the air he breathes, signifying the need for the team to put everything on the line for the World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking after the team’s training session to reporters he charged the team to give their best since the qualification means a lot to him, the country, and other stakeholders of the game.
The Black Stars will aim to give their World Cup qualification a significant boost as they play Chad on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The West African powerhouse returns to action for the first time this year for the continuation of the qualifying series this month. Ghana will play host to Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21 before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on March 24, 2025.
“For qualification, I need it just as any other person. Qualification is like the air that we are breathing and that’s how bad I need it. That’s why you’ve seen me here regularly. I want everything in order for this game. We are all working towards that and I know God will smile on us” he ended

The Black Stars failed to qualify for the AFCON 2025 for the first time in 20 years but will hope to make amends in order to secure qualification as they take on Chad and Madagascar.
