Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has lashed out at some of the players who have failed to pull up their weights to justify a starting spot in the squad.
According to the championship-winning coach, some of the bigwigs in the team are failing to justify their inclusion in training to merit a starting spot but have rather resorted to seeking sympathy through their friends in the media landscape.

This season, a host of senior players, George’s Mfegue, Steven Mukwala, Richmond, and Eric Zeze have all been benched at some point of the season which has heightened fans’ displeasure.
“Most of the senior players are not putting in much effort at training, and that’s the reason I start the young guys who were originally not supposed to start,”
“Some have turned to politicians, and they always want to get playing time by going through their friends who are journalists. But that won’t work. If you are good, prove it at the training ground for everyone to see.”
The Porcupine Warriors have suffered contrasting fortunes in the league, the most recent is their home loss to Dreams FC, which culminated in the fans booing at the club’s team bus at the Baba Yara on Sunday.
