Preview GHPL Match Week 4: Kotoko enter Medeama’s den as Aduana,Ashgold to stay unbeaten?
For the first in the Ghana Premier League, there will be midweek matches to be honored across the various league centers.
A sneak peek at the fixtures presents some juicy duels to whet the appetite of Ghanaian football lovers.
To start with, WAFA will play host to a resurgent Hearts of Oak, who secured their first victory of the campaign after two successive losses. The home side have not performed badly at all under the able leadership of Coach Prosper Narteh, picking seven (7) points from a possible nine (9). Both sides come into this match having played nine (9) times, each drawing three (3), winning three (3) each as well.
The Phobia boys last visit to the Sogakope Red Bull Arena didn’t end well as they lost by a heavy margin, the mid-week fixture presents an opportunity to get something out of the match against an exciting WAFA set-up.

Tema based club Inter Allies are enjoying a mixed season, picking just three (3) points in the ongoing season whiles their midweek opponents in Elmina Sharks are on a similar leash with only two (2) points to look back on so far.
The pair come into this match with five matches played between themselves, Inter Allies winning just one (1), Elmina Sharks having the edge with two (2) and two draws as well. There’s all to play for at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Meanwhile, Eleven Wonders will be wondering what really hit them in their last three matches as they have been unable to pick up any point, with relegation staring deeply into their souls. The home side have conceded four goals and scored none to reduce their goal deficit in three matches.
Aduana Stars on the other hand, have been unplayable in all departments of the game. Scoring seven and conceding one in three matches. If Eleven Wonders want to get something out of this match they will have to keep strong tabs on the prolific Yahaya Mohammed whose rich vein of form has earned him five goals in three matches.
Accra Great Olympics are currently bottom of the table, losing all three matches, conceding 5 goals as a result. They come up against a Karela side who are picking form gradually and will look to add Olympics as their next prey.
Legon Cities a rebranded side under Coach Goran will battle Ashanti Gold, one of the two sides to maintain an unbeaten run this far. The away side come into this fixture recording most wins (6), with Legon Cities (3) and six (6) by way of draws. The Obuasi faithful have been brilliant so far and will look to get one over Legon Cities.
To CapeCoast, where Ebusua Dwarfs are languishing at the bottom of the league log. The Dwarfs have lost all three, conceded a total of seven goals and scoring two to reduce the deficit, Liberty, on the other hand, have drawn all 3 matches earning them the title“draw specialist”.
The pair have played 15 matches between each other, with Liberty (7), Dwarfs (5) and draws (3). Liberty will fancy their chances against a struggling rival and take all three points, but it won’t come without a stern fight by the home side.
The Mauve and Yellow boys have been on the Ghanaian scene for a while, and have been touted to win the title at some point, their last point came against Liberty at Dansoman. Kotoko, on the other hand, started brightly winning their opening two fixtures and losing shocking to Berekum Chelsea, a match blighted by many controversies.
That aside, Maxwell Konadu and his boys will look to move on quickly from what happened at Baba Yara. Both have played 9 matches between each other, Kotoko recording (5), Medeama(1), draws (3). Medeama under Samuel Boadu have been a very solid side going into a match they are considered underdogs despite their good start to the season.
