Coach Otto Addo has expressed immense delight after he returned as head coach of the senior national team.
He made this revelation during his squad announcement on Wednesday, 29, May, 2024 at the GFA headquarters for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
“I’m excited, happy to be back. It was not easy but the FA had a lot of talk with Dortmund and even though I still have one more year contract, we managed to get out I’m happy to be home and I’m back home now. I’m excited, I’m looking forward to the first match, (it) will be difficult, very, very difficult especially as we are some points behind first place, and as you know only the first-placed will qualify tough situation but yea, I’m looking forward for the game and I think we will manage it,” he opined during his squad announcement.
Addressing local journalists at the GFA headquarters, notable exclusions of Andre Ayew and Abdul Baba Rahman but Thomas Brandon and Ibrahim Sulemana are in line to make their debut for the senior national team.

Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati Zigi, Wollacott, Frederick Asare.
Defenders: Gideon Mensah, Ebenezer Annan, Mohammed Salisu, Jerombdul Mumin, Alexander Djiku and Alidu Seidu, Tariq Lamptey
Midfielders: Molemana, Thomas Partey, Edmund Addo, Elisha Owusu, and Abu Francis.
Forwards: Osman Bukari, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Ibrahim Osman Kamaldeen Sumenana and Brandon Thomas-Asante.
The team is expected to kick start training in Accra at the University of Ghana Stadium for six days before leaving the shores of the country to take on Mali in the crunch encounter at the Stade 26 Mars on June 6, 2024.
Ghana will take on Mali on June 6 and the Central African Republic on June 10. Otto Addo’s side is fourth with three points earned in two games.
