OFFICIAL: Kwabena Owusu joins Qarabağ FK on a three and a half year deal

Azerbaijani giants Qarabağ FK have announced the signing of Ghana forward Kwabena Owusu from Spanish outfit Leganes. 




The striker joins the club after penning a three and a half year deal following fruitful negotiations between the two parties.

“Karabakh made its first transfer in the winter transfer window. Our team has joined the squad of Leganes forward Ovusi Kwabena, who plays for the La Liga,” the club posted on their official Instagram handle.

“The 22-year-old striker signed a 3.5-year contract. The winged player, who spent the first half of the season at the Spanish club Cordoba, scored six goals in 17 games. Our new transfer also played four games in the main league of his country,” the club added.

Owusu spent the first half of the season at Segunda Division side Cordoba, where he played 17 games netting six goals.

“I am happy to come to “Karabakh”.I wanted to play in a club that represented both the Champions League and the Europa League,’ Owusu told the club’s website.

“I hope everything will be good for me. I understand that I have come to Azerbaijan for six consecutive championships and my fans are expecting more goals from me. I will do my best,” he added.

“When I received an offer from “Karabakh” I never knew it. I knew that he played in the Champions League two years ago. And it was my dream to play in such a club, and I was very happy when the offer came.

“I’m a young footballer and this offer is a great opportunity for me. I don’t say anything about my personal goal, I think the best is to show it on the pitch. I know the fans are thinking now how I am a footballer. I hope I love them with my game. ”
