Newly appointed coach of the Black Stars manager, Chris Hughton has given a strong indication that players plying their trade in the betPawa Premier League will be given a chance with the national team.
The experience figure who was unveiled at a colorful ceremony at the SG Mall in Kumasi assumes his new role on a two-year deal.
He will be flanked by George Boateng, and Didi Dramani as well as goalkeeper’s trainer, Richard Kingston as key figure figures of his backroom staff.
Speaking at his unveiling, he expressed the possibility of locally based players having a shot with the Black Stars
“I will spend more time in Ghana and will watch more games. I’m constantly being made aware of players who are doing well.”
“I’ll be paying more attention to GPL games because it’s important that we have a strong national league” he ended.
A host of players in the ongoing league have put in some incredible performances worthy of call-ups, hopefully, their efforts will be rewarded by the new man in town.
Ghana is billed to play Angola in a double-legged tie in Kumasi on March, 21,2023 and a return fixture four days’ time in Luanda.
