Nana Oduro Sarfo resigns from Berekum CEO role
Nana Oduro Sarfo with immediate effect left his role as Chief Executive officer of former Ghana Premier League champions, Berekum Chelsea.
This decision comes on the heels of remarks he made when he was interviewed over the state of his former club’s football home turf, Golden City Park.
The quality of the pitch came under serious scrutiny following the round two clash between Berekum Chelsea and Kotoko over the weekend.
In an interview with Accra based Angel FM, he opined that there were other relevant issues worth more to be discussed than the state of the club’s home venue.
“Some of the players even play on grassless pitches so what are you talking about? Nobody has asked you to call me.
I’m watching a Nigerian movies and that is more precious to me at this point. We have finished playing the game and I don’t care about anything anymore.
If you don’t understand go and ‘collect’ the points from us,” he ended.
He played that role for nine years. The club will in the coming days issue a statement confirming his replacement.
Berekum Chelsea are one of few sides tipped to win the league, they have started this season by slowly picking two (2) points from a possible six (6) from Legon Cities, Kotoko in round two of the ongoing league.
Their next duel is against Ebusua dwarfs at the Cape Coast Sports stadium.
