MTN FA CUP R16 : PAC Academy dumps Medeama out to reach quarter finals

PAC Academy defied all odds to beat Medeama in the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa.

 



The two teams playing for the first time gave the fans their money’s worth.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko supervising his first cup game for the side named a mixed bag of youth and experienced starting lineup.

Saed was named in the post, Sulemana captained the side, and Amoah, Mubarik, Kamaradini, Dwumah, Babil, Quaison, Kelvin, Azaria, and Sidebe.

Mubarik gave the home side an early lead through the penalty kick after a PAC Academy defender handled the ball in his penalty box in the 4th minute.

The Kumasi-based side regrouped and reacted stronger to going behind to level the score line in the 17th minute.

Both teams probed for the match-winner but couldn’t get through in either half.

PAC Academy stood their ground to stun their host 4-2 during the penalty shootout.

They will savor the victory as they journey back to Kumasi in wait for their next opponents in the quarter-finals.
