Similarly, the away side was on the losing end as they lost at home to serial champions, Al Ahly by a lone at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana.

A defensive mix-up allowed, Abdelraouf Benguit to poke in the first goal of the game in the twenty-seventh minute of the game.

Three minutes to end the first half, a defensive lapse in concentration allowed Leonel Wamba to pounce in the second goal of the game.

In what looked as though it would end by a two-goal margin, Lamin Jallow scored the third goal to seal the victory for the host.

The results see Al Ahly top the group with 12 points, followed by Yanga and CR Belouizdad tied on 8 points and Medeama with 4 points.
