Maxwell Konadu didn’t want me – Kotoko defender Empem Dacosta
Defender Empem Dacosta has revealed with Asante Kotoko terminated his contract before the resumption of the upcoming season.
The versatile defender insisted that his contract termination had nothing to do with his performance at the club but due to personal reasons, he adds that Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu stated clearly that he isn’t in his plans for the upcoming season.
“Maxwell Konadu told me I don’t suit his style of play so I am not in his plans for the season,” Empem Dacosta told Pure FM
The player’s agent also revealed that the club’s CEO wanted Empem Dacosta to leave on loan since the coach isn’t interested in the player, but Dacosta had no interest in the loan move and both parties agreed to terminate the contract.
“Asante Kotoko wanted the player to go on loan but we refused. Nana Yaw Amponsah told us the coach of the club Maxwell Konadu has shown no interest in the player so the only thing is to go on a loan. The meeting took over six hours today” Dacosta’s agent, B God told Pure FM.
“I am saying Empem Dacosta is no more a player of Asante Kotoko, we have resolved everything this afternoon wen we met Kotoko at the club’s secretariat. We appreciate what the clu has done for us” he concluded.
Empem Dacosta joined Asante Kotoko from Karela United 13 months ago.
