
Hearts of Oak asserted their superiority of debutants, Young Apostles in week twenty-three of the Ghana Premier League.
The Ghana Premier League was making a return in over five weeks since the league was suspended following the unfortunate passing of Koko supporter, Yaw Frimpong (Nana Pooley) at Nsoatre in a game against Nsoatreman.
The Phobians were determined to give a good account of themselves which showed in how they controlled large portions of the game and created a myriad of chances which paid off as Michael Awuah Mensah was the quickest to react to a corner kick from Hussein Mohammed to mark the first goal of the evening on the stroke of half time.

The home side pressed Young Apostles into ceding possession in their defensive half where a teasing cross from defender Michael Ampadu found the head of Hamza Issah, whose header cannon of a defender beyond the reach of Zulka Masawudu for the second goal of the game.
It was least surprising that, the host bagged 60% possession to Young Apostles’ 40%. They ended up with 15 goal attempts, with six on target, while Young Apostles managed 11 attempts with just two on target.

The win powers Coach Ouattara’s side to the apex of the league momentarily as they await results from their key competitors such as Kotoko, GoldStars tomorrow at their varied match venues.
