Match Report – Great Olympics, Hearts of Oak share points in Ga Mashie derby

Great Olympics and Accra Hearts of Oak have failed to pick up maximum wins at the expense of each other in a goalless Ga-Mashie derby at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, December 22, 2023.

Both teams failed to take the chances that came their way in a breathless and enthralling encounter on Friday evening. The first half ended goalless with the best chances falling to the Phobians.

Salifu Ibrahim delivered a perfect free kick in the 14th minute but missed the post by a whisker much to the relief of goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare.

The silky who has become an integral figure for the setup since his return from injury nearly broke the deadlock with a ferocious left-foot shot but the crossbar was there to save the blushed Dade boys on the 34th-minute mark the resulting shot from Linda Mtange caused little worry to the host.

Enock Asubonteng missed a glorious opportunity to kick the Phobians into the lead after a lovely footwork by Ramos Kashala. 

There were chances from the Great Olympics through Michael Osei and Kekeli Ator but Richard Attah was equal to the task of keeping the score line, 0-0.

The results see both teams leveled on points, 18, in search of their first win in five games. 

Great Olympics travel away to RTU similarly Hearts will be at home to Bechem.
