It was all joy for Ghana’s U15 girls’ team as they advanced to the finals of the ongoing CAF African Schools Football Championship at the expense of defending champions, South Africa.
The host nation progressed to the semi-finals without conceding a goal, scoring six and picking up nine points from their games.
Ghana took the lead early in the first half through Jennifer Awuku. brought the South Africans level just before halftime.

However, South Africa’s Lisa Kayanka levelled things up for the visiting team.
Captain of the Black Damsels, Hajara Adam, led by example as she struck the ball perfectly from the centre line two minutes after halftime, beyond the reach of the South African goalkeeper.
Rahama Mohammed extended the lead for Ghana with a beautiful curler in the 29th minute, but South Africa managed to reduce the deficit.
The Ghanaian girls progressed to the finals of the competition for the first time and will meet Uganda on Saturday, April,26,2025.
