Mariano Barreto worried about Kotoko form

Asante Kotoko manager Mariano Barreto says he is worried about Asante Kotoko’s form after losing against Elmina Sharks on Sunday in their last league game of the season.



Asante Kotoko suffered a back-to-back defeat for the first time this season on Sunday, Elmina Sharks completed a league double over the porcupines for the first time in the club’s history.

Speaking after the game, Mariano Barreto stated that Kotoko came into the game to win the ‘honor trophy’ since they are playing in the presence of their fans but things didn’t go well for them.

“Before the match, we had a challenge; to win the “honor medal” and we lost this medal,” he said

“Today we should have  done some things we didn’t do after Hearts match; the last three games were very bad”

“I am very disappointed, everyone has to think about what happened in the last three games and why it happened because it should never happen in Kotoko” he continued

“The challenge of Kotoko is to win every match and this didn’t happen in the last three games and this makes me worried” he added

Asante Kotoko will host Berekum Chelsea later this month as they continue their quest for silverware this season and a chance to play in Africa next season.
