Legon Cities’ Fatau Dauda open to Black Stars return
Ghana and Legon Cities goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda is eyeing a return to the Black Stars following a long absence from the national team since the 2014 World Cup.
Fatau Dauda was the first choice goalkeeper under former coach Kwasi Appiah.
Following Ghana’s disastrous campaign at the tournament, Fatau Dauda has not been called to the Black Stars and is hoping to reclaim a spot in Charles Kwabla Akonnor’s team.
Dauda who joined Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities this season from Nigerian side Enyimba FC says he is still ready to accept a call-up.
“There are a lot of players in the queue who want to play for the national team so I am still active”
“If they invite me to come and play for the black stars why not I will welcome the invitation because I am still active and playing, “he said.
The former AshantiGold goalkeeper made his debut for the Black Stars in 2008 and featured at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil for the national team.
