Laryea Kingston urges Hearts of Oak and Kotoko management to make strategic decisions for future triumph

Former Ghanaian midfielder, Laryea Kingston has issued a heartfelt plea to two of the country’s renowned clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, urging them to take decisive actions that will shape their future success.

Kingston emphasizes the critical importance of both clubs recruiting the right technical personnel and astute management individuals who possess a deep understanding of the beautiful game.

Currently, both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have been experiencing a decline in performance this season, with assistant coaches in charge of their respective teams.

Hearts of Oak currently sits seventh on the league table with 45 points, while Asante Kotoko holds the fourth position with 47 points, despite being the defending champions. They have also failed to secure victory in the MTN FA Cup.

“Hearts and Asante Kotoko are the two prominent teams in the country. They should strive to do the right things, such as hiring the right technical staff and competent management that comprehends the game,” expressed Laryea during an interview with Original FM.

He further emphasizes the significance of having a well-structured game plan that would enable the clubs to build teams capable of dominating not only Ghana but also Africa within the next two to three years.

Laryea highlights the current lack of a clear plan by both teams, stressing the need to think long-term and focus on establishing a solid foundation.

“I can confidently say that both teams have not built anything significant in the past five years. Each season, players come and go, with the expectation that something will be achieved, but that’s not the case. They should develop a plan for four or five years to feel secure playing in Ghana and then in Africa,” added Kingston.

His plea for strategic decision-making serves as a reminder for Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to consider long-term goals and establish a clear vision for sustained success in both domestic and continental competitions.
