Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah has sought to explain why the team had a poor second half in their game against Ethiopia.
Many people over social media had complained about the lack of energy by the Stars in the second half and in an interview after the game Kwesi Appiah addressed that matter.

He blamed the high altitudes for the lethargic display by the team in the second half. “The altitude was not easy, even though I was standing out there it was difficult for me to breathe” the coach said. “For them to run the whole 90 mins they have done really well “, he added.
He further said that tactically after the two goals the main aim was to contain the weather conditions and hang on for the three points and for that reason the Ethiopians had most of the ball in the second half.
Jordan Ayew’s brace proved pivotal to the Stars victory in the first half scoring early on before adding a second from the spot to give them a two goal cushion heading into the break.

The result means the Black Stars are in pole position to Qualify for the AFCON 2019 tournament next year with Ethiopia and Sierra Leone missing out.
