The Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo, has challenged the oldest club in Ghana football, Accra Hearts of Oak to follow suit in Kotoko’s steps of building their own stadium.
According to the experienced football administrator, it’s been long overdue for the club to have had their own stadium by this time.
He however called on the club’s hierarchy to put plans in place to Fastrack the completion of the Pobiman project which has currently come to a halt in the last few months.
Mr.Fianoo remarked that the two traditional clubs have more than enough football fans who can support in their ambition of helping to construct a new stadium.
“I think Nana Yaw Amponsah was being modest when he said 100,000 supporters, both Hearts and Kotoko will get millions of supporters to help them build their own stadiums,”
“When you go to North Africa, many teams have their stadiums and I think Hearts, Kotoko, and other team should do the same,” he told Angel TV
Some of the local sides, WAFA SC, AshGold, MedeamaSC, Liberty Professionals have their own stadiums that help them generate some revenue for their home games.
