Kotoko, Hearts storm Koforidua for Pre-season preparations

Two of Ghana’s biggest franchise, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have both pitched camps in Kofouridua, Eastern Region. ahead of the new 2020-21 season.



This situation has raised lots of talk points in the football landscape, with many questioning the motive behind the duo powerhouses choosing to pitch camps in Koforidua ahead of other areas in the country.

The duo are feverishly preparing ahead of the new season having signed players to augment their side following the cancelation of the prior season as a result of the impact of the novel coronavirus, which decimated lives globally and brought major worldwide economies to its knees.

The Porcupine Warriors were the first to head to Kofouridua to acclimatize themselves with the weather, train effectively, and learn modern techniques to help them retain their league.

So far, Kotoko have signed lots of players, with Emmanuel Sarkodie, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Patrick Asmah, the notable ones whiles rumors circle around Medeama’s Justice Blay and former Arsenal outcast Emmanuel Frimpong.

Their regional rivals, who are still chasing their first league title in over a decade, have so far signed, Abednego Tetteh, Nuru Sulley, Ademola Kuti, Isaac Mensah letting go of wholesome players the notable ones been Joseph Esso and Kofi Kordzi.

Hearts of Oak will start off their campaign by traveling to the Agyemang Badu Park to face off with former champions, Aduana Stars whiles Kotoko will be at home to Eleven Wonders at their adopted home venue, Accra Sports Stadium.

The Ghana Premier League will commence on November 13, 2020, across the various league centers in the country.
