Former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has acknowledged having talks with Asante Kotoko on taking up the vacant coaching role at the club.
The Kumasi club has been without a head coach after the sacking off, Burkinabe trainer, Seydou Zerbo following a poor string of results in the ongoing betPawa Premier League, which has left them eight points off the pace at the top of the summit.

In a recent media interview with, Pure FM in Kumasi, Appiah remarked that, there has been some level of consultations between his team and the club but nothing definite has been agreed on as he is also considering other offers he has received in the last few weeks.
“For the past months, I have held talks with Kotoko, but I told them to hold on because I received two offers, but let us see what happens.” he said.
Appiah is a well-known figure in the Ghanaian football circles, former player of Kotoko went on to serve Ghana, as an assistant coach and later the head coach, moved on to Al Khartoum, Sudan and later on Kenpong Football Academy, where he has since left that role this year.
Kotoko will hope to wrap up a deal for their former player as soon as possible as the league enters its final lap of games.
