Josh-Kofi Acheampong signs first pro contract with Chelsea FC
Josh-Kofi Acheampong, the talented Ghanaian youngster born in England, has officially penned his first professional contract with Chelsea.
The promising teenager, who recently exhibited his prowess with England’s U-17 squad, has committed to Chelsea until the summer of 2026.
Chelsea released a statement noting, “Academy player Josh-Kofi Acheampong has inked his maiden professional deal with Chelsea.”

“Acheampong has been with Chelsea since he was an Under-8, progressing through Cobham’s youth system. Demonstrating versatility as a defender, he’s been a consistent presence for our Under-18 team this season and also made appearances for the Under-21 squad.”
Approaching his 17th birthday in May, Acheampong’s football journey has been noteworthy. He played a pivotal role in England’s U-17 team during both the European Championships in the summer and the World Cup in November.
While Acheampong has showcased his skills for England’s youth sides, his allegiance for senior international football remains undecided, presenting a potential opportunity for consideration by the Ghana Football Association.
