Tema Youth’s owner, Wilfred Palmer was left angered and frustrated by the exclusion of Joseph Paintsil’s from the final 26-man squad for the World Cup.
The pacy winger has been in scintillating form for his club side, scoring 11 goals, his recent form sparked lots of speculations that he would be World Cup-bound but interestingly per recent reports, it’s evident that, he won’t be part of the final list.
Coach Addo is said to have called the Belgian-based player to inform him about his exclusion which is said to have not sat down well, with, Palmer, linking his close ties with the player as the reason for not making the final quad.
“Sometimes it hurts when I see how he’s being treated in the national team,”
“We watched the AFCON and he was one of the best players, yet he sat out the next two games.
”I have reached a conclusion that he’s being snubbed because of his affiliation with me,” he told CitiSports
Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, is expected to name his final 26-man squad on November 14.
Ghana will contend with Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay in Group H for one of two slots for the group stages.
