Isaac Atanga on target as Aalesunds exit Norwegian Cup after defeat to Brann
Ghanaian forward Isaac Atanga found the back of the net for Aalesunds FK despite their loss to SK Brann in the Norwegian Cup tournament on Wednesday, which ultimately ended in a post-match penalty shootout.
Aalesunds were eliminated from the competition after a 6-5 penalty shootout defeat to Brann, following a 3-3 draw in regular time during the Round of 32.
Atanga made an impact by opening the scoring for Aalesunds in the 25th minute at the Colour Line Stadium in Ålesund.

Shortly after, Danish defender Svenn Crone equalized for Brann, but Aalesunds regained their lead just before halftime through Markus Seehusen Karlsbakk.
Thore Pedersen managed to equalize for Brann with just two minutes left in regular time, leveling the scores once again.
In extra time, Karlsbakk struck again to give Aalesunds the lead, but their advantage was short-lived as Ole Blomberg equalized for Brann four minutes later, making it the third equalizer of the match.
In the subsequent penalty shootout, Aalesunds scored five penalties and missed three, while Brann converted six and failed to convert two, allowing them to advance to the next round of the Norwegian Cup.
Throughout the cup competition, Atanga has scored twice in two appearances for Aalesunds, adding to his overall tally of three goals in nine matches in the Norwegian League this season.
