I’ll win the Golden Boot – Yahaya Mohammed on upcoming season’s ambitions
In a little over a month, the Ghana Premier League will return to action, our screens will be filled with players trying to outwit each other, coaches bringing their tactical brains to help clubs get the maximum points up for grabs.
That said, lots of pundits have had their take on who will annex the league, lots of persons have said that with the number of signings Kumasi based Kotoko have made, it only points to the direction that the league will once again end up in their cabinet others have pinned Hearts, Ashgold, Aduana and Medeama SC as strong challengers for the title.
The golden boot award is one most strikers reveal themselves in after bagging it, however, former Aduana Stars forward, Yahaya Mohammed, who has jumped ship to Obuasi-based Ashantigold on loan is clearly aiming at clinching the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League golden boot award once again.
The 32-year-old was a goal-shy off the 12 goals that helped lost former Inter Allies forward, Victorien Adebayor to win the award.
“I will have won the goal-King if the league continued and I will win when we begin the new season,
My aim was to win the league title, the goal-King, get a Black Stars call-up and then a foreign move,
The foreign offer came, I had the Black Stars call-up but COVID damaged the other ambitions,
Now, my aim is to make sure I win the league and of course, I will grab the top-scorer award,” he told Kumasi FM.
The Ghana Premier League is bound to kick-start on November, 13 much to the delight of football lovers in the country and beyond.
