Highlights: Medeama gun down Kotoko at Obuasi
Medeama SC famously beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko in week twenty-one of the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season at the Obuasi Ley Clay Sports Stadium to make a huge statement of their intention to win the league for the first time in its history.
Kotoko shot ahead in the game through, Emmanuel Gyamfi after both sides had created numerous chances but failed to effectively bury it past the goalkeepers.

Medeama SC responded after a series of attacks through prolific goalscorer, Prince Opoku Agyemang, as if that was not enough, they added a second to their tally through the delightful Richard Boadu at the dearth of the first half.
The second half saw Kotoko come out in full galore but their attacking resolve was ably repelled by Yaw Preko’s men, who were impressive in the absence of poster boy, Justice Blay, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The win sees the Mauve and Yellow side leapfrog Kotoko to the summit of the table for the first time in the league with 36 points whiles Kotoko holds 35 points.
In other matches, one goal each from young attacking potentials, Abraham Wayo and Amadu Awudu ensured that Liberty Professionals racked up their third consecutive win of the season lifting them up to 14th place whiles Berekum Chelsea lie 9th on the log pending other games on Sunday.
