Hearts of Oak’s Mawuli Wayo’s brace deepen Accra Lions

Second-half substitute Mawuli Wayo’s brace flipped the game on its head for Hearts of Oak against  Accra Lions in a game week  15 clash at the WAFA Park in Sogakope on Sunday.

The Phobians came into the game with a win over Berekum Chelsea and were looking to make it two wins from two.

They took an early lead through,  Mohammed Hussein who expertly headed in a teasing cross from a Saani Mohammed cross to give Hearts the lead.

In a rather interesting turn of events, the Phobians conceded two quick goals through, Accra Lions, Lucky Nestor, and Ezekiel Alladoh for the host to gain the advantage.

Coach Outtara effected second-half changes across the run of play, which proved a masterstroke for the 20th-time Ghana Premier League champions.

Wayo, who seems to be a better play off the bench than an actual starter took the bull by the horn to pop in two goals for the away side with 10 minutes to end proceedings.

The win boosts the chances of the Hearts of Oak to close the gap at the summit to 5 points.
