Hearts of Oak have officially appointed Martin Hendrikus Wilhemus Koopman as the club’s new head coach before the new season 2023/24.
The Accra-based club after parting ways with Slavko Matic, the club’s technical direction was then steered by assistant coach, David Ocloo, who has since left the club to join Asante Kotoko.

Following weeks of intense rumors and speculations, the hierarchy has appointed, Koopman, who has extensive knowledge in the football circles having managed sides such, as RKC Waalwijk, Sparta Rotterdam, and Roda JC in the Dutch Eredivisie, Al-Orouba in Oman, Al-Nasr SC in UAE and the national teams of Maldives and Aruba.
The 67-year-old has been introduced to the playing body of the club and will hope to hit the ground running when the season commences on September, 15,2023.

Meanwhile, the club made a host of technical changes, which saw Former Dutch footballer Rene Hiddink appointed Technical Director, Carlos Klu (Welfare Officer), Jerry Adjei Asare (Goalkeeper Coach), and Sebastian Barnes (Head of Scouting).
Hearts of Oak will travel up north to face off against Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in the season opener of the Ghana Premier League.
