Hearts of Oak settle player’s arrears

Ghanaian Premier League club Hearts of Oak have reportedly settled some arrears owed to its players and technical staff.

Since the inception of the coronavirus, lots of clubs in the country were adversely affected hence their inability to generate revenue through match day proceeds, player sales, sponsorship deals as well other possible sources.

This development will come as a wonderful piece of news to players and technical staff, who would have expected their four months salary arrears paid in full but received two months for the meantime with the club promising to offset the others soon.

The Ghana Premier League was placed on hold due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in March but canceled by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after a series of consultative meetings with stakeholders of the league.

The new season is bound to resume in October 2020 with lots of clubs still unsure of how safe it is to resume camping in the midst of the pandemic, Covid-19.
