GPL Match Reports: Adauna tame Hearts, Ashgold wallop King Faisal in six-goals thriller
Aduana Stars and AshGold recorded impressive home victories over their respective opponents in a week one and three rescheduled Ghana Premier League matches that took place this afternoon in Dorma and Obuasi.
Aduana Stars were at home to Accra Hearts of Oak at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, both clubs were billed to play in week one,but for a surge in Covid-19 cases recorded in the camp of the opposition setup the Ghana Football Association deemed it necessary to postpone the match.
This afternoon both clubs clashed, Aduana Stars were coming into this match following two draws and a loss, needing to make a win to make a major statement.
Hearts of Oak on the other prior to this fixture has also not fared particularly well after two draws and a recent win against Dreams FC were in hunt for a second victory.
In the end, Paa Kwesi Fabian and his lads proved superior to the traveling, Rainbow setup dispatching them by two goals to nil with goals from Yahaya Mohammed and Paul Acquah.
Aduana Stars and Hearts are tied on points separated by a position, 7,8th.
In the other rescheduled match at the Obuasi Ley Clay Stadium,a double brace for Yaw Annor, Opoku Agyemang and a goal for David Sandan Abagna ensured that AshGold run riot over King Faisal with a paltry goal from Kwame Preprah to ease the pain of the heavy defeat.
The home side were coming into this match brewing with so much confidence after battering Elmina Sharks at home over the weekend as such they continued with that form as the away side had no answers whatsoever to the attacking prowess of the home side, who have since scored nine(9) goals in two games.
AshGold have moved up to 5th on the log while the “Insha Allahu” boys have dropped into the relegation den with 4 points.
