Hearts of Oak captain, Gladson Awako has squashed circling reports in the local media landscape that he has terminated his existing contract with the Accra-based club.
This comes on the back of reports that together with two other players had agreed to mutually terminate their contracts with the club.
Speaking in a recent radio interview with Akoma FM, the captain acknowledged that, he still had a contract with the club debunking earlier speculations of him terminating his contract with the club.

According to him, he is eager to welcome the new coach that would be appointed by the club, with the hope that they can forge the team to the next level.
“At the moment, I’m still a player of Hearts of Oak, I have 14-15 months left, we don’t have a coach for now, a new coach might come with a new philosophy but I’m happy to captain this great team”
“All I can say for now is that I’m still a Hearts of Oak player, when the season starts, the fans should expect different team performance, we will give our best as we have been doing always to make the club great again” he ended.
Awako since joining Hearts of Oak from Great Olympics has had his career blighted by recurring injuries, limiting him to 38 appearances over two seasons.
