The Ghana Football Association has launched the elite talent identification program in Accra.
The National elite Identification and Development Program is to identify and develop talented young girls and boys to form the core of the various national teams.
The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku and Vice President Mark Addo were all present at the launch.
Also present was Technical Director Bernard Lippert, Director of Coaching Education Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, Histerine De Reus – FIFA/UEFA Coaching Instructor and Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association Samuel Aboabire.
The Director of the elite talent identification program, Papa Nii Lartey explained that, about 5000 kids will need to be scouted across the country to unearth the best for the national teams.

He added that: “The idea is that no talent will be left behind, so we want to be able to go into the rural areas, the villages and where ever there is a talent in this country, we want to identify that talent for the Ghana Football Association”.
“The goal is to identify 500 of the best talented juvenile players across the Region. I am not mistaken, Ghana is probably the first country in Africa to start such a program”
The FA will deploy scouts and coaches who will help in identifying talents across the country. This initiative seeks to nurture talents for the various national teams.
