Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has commissioned three boreholes in the Kumasi Metropolitan area of the Ashanti Region, aimed at enhancing the quality of pitches and consequently improving competitions.
The project locations include Ejisu Okese Park, Kumasi Anglican Senior High School Park (KASS), and Wesley College School Park, which are used by Third Division, Second Division, and Women’s Division One clubs of the Regional Football Association as game centres.
The GFA has allocated several boreholes to each of the 10 football regions in the country, including notable beneficiaries such as Division One League venues, Premier League venues, and the GFA Technical Centre at Prampram.
The borehole project is being financed through the FIFA Forward 1.0 programme. Kurt Okraku expects that this project will have a substantial impact on football development in Ghana.
