Asante Kotoko announced that Franck Etouga, Owusu, Asmah, Boateng, and Agyemang miss their trip to Sudan due to illness but didn’t explain the absence of the club captain Abdul Ganiyu who didn’t travel with the team for their pre-season in Sudan.
Amidst the reports surrounding Abdul Ganiyu’s future at Kotoko, the player responded to Sahara Football’s question when asked to clarify his current situation at Asante Kotoko.
When asked if he has terminated his contract with Asante Kotoko:
“I am still a player of Asante Kotoko,” the player said.
The player however opted not to answer when asked if he wrote to the club asking for his contract to be terminated, he also declined to comment on if he will play for Asante Kotoko in the upcoming season.
Abdul Ganiyu has one year left in his contract at Asante Kotoko, and Kotoko fans will be hoping the captain stays at the club for the upcoming season.
