The 19-year-old made his senior debut under Jose Mourinho in the ongoing Serie A season scoring two goals on his third Serie A appearance on November 21.
According to Il Messaggero newspaper, Afena-Gyan won’t be part of the first time for the next few weeks following his decision to go clubbing.
According to the report, Mourinho, who was left disappointed with the action of the promising forward has decided to drop the striker to the Primavera team after finding out that he had gone clubbing on Saturday.
Afena-Gyan was not available for Sunday’s match against Spezia due to a minor injury and returned to Trigoria, where he lives in the club’s boarding school, at late night with two of his Primavera teammates: Benjamin Tahirovic and Jan Oliveras.
Afena-Gyan has already played 12 games for Roma.
He turned down a call up ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, citing that he wants to continue with his development at the club after breaking into the first team of AS Roma.
