Exclusive: CK Akonnor rejected a new role at Kotoko and resigned
CK Akonnor asked Asante Kotoko to sack him due to the fact that he is not interested in the role of technical director at the club, Sahara Football understands.
The management of Asante Kotoko told CK Akonnor that he will be promoted to a new role as technical director of the club, and the club is bringing in a white coach to work under him.
CK Akonnor rejected this offer and stated that he is not interested in being the club’s technical director and asked the club to terminate his contract if they don’t need his services as a head coach anymore.
The name of the reported ‘white coach’ is currently unknown but reports are suggesting that management of Kotoko are in talks with Ashanti Gold SC head coach Kjetil Zachariassen as CK Akonnor’s possible replacement.
