Ebenezer Agyapong appeals to GFA to lift Techiman City ban

Ghana Premier League club Techiman City’s captain, Ebenezer Agyapong has appealed to the President of the Ghana Football Association and his top executives to temper justice with mercy as players are on the downside as a result of the ban on the club.

According to him, the playing body are the ones who are feeling the full effects of ban and not the board or the management body of the team.

In an interview with Accra based radio station Angel Sports, he was passionate about his appeal to football association.

“All we are saying is that the players are at the worse end of the ban placed on Techiman City”

“Football is our source of livelihood, through this ban, it has become very difficult for us(playing body) to survive compared to the club executives”

“I appeal to President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku to prioritize the welfare of the playing body as his ambitions are geared towards bringing back the love to Ghana Football”

Ghana Premier League club, Techiman City lost its right to become member of the Football Association after it issued a Writ, filing an Ex-parte against it on Friday, August 28, 2020, to place an interlocutory injunction on the 26th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association.

This incurred the wrath of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to exercise its powers under Article 39(n) of the GFA Statutes 2019 to suspended Techiman City Football Club for violating the Statutes of the Association.

As at yesterday, 22nd October, 2020, sixteen (16) Ghana Premier League, Division One, Women’s League clubs had signed a petion on behalf of Techiman City to sway GFA’s decision to remove the ban on the club heading into the upcoming season.
