CK Akonnor to reject Technical Director role at Asante Kotoko
Charles Kwabla Akonnor is set to reject his new role as Technical Director of Asante Kotoko, according to several reports.
Asante Kotoko elevated CK Akonnor to the role of the Technical Director after employing Norwegian tactician Kjetil Zachariassen as the club’s new Head coach.
Akonnor is reported to be unhappy with the manner in which his promotion, the arrival of some players and the appointment of the new coach happened.
Asante Kotoko are yet to release a statement clarifying the issue or if CK Akonnor has accepted the new role at the club.
Reports are suggesting that CK Akonnor will leave the club as he is set to reject the role of the Technical Director.
According to Ghanasoccernet, Namibian giants African Stars have opened up negotiations with C.K Akonnor.
African Stars are four times Namibian champions and believe the former Ashantigold gaffer can lead them to a fifth title next season.
Akonnor had a successful spell at Kotoko despite serving only 9 months of his three year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.
He led the club to the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup, their first in 11 years before winning the GFA NC Tier I special competition.
