Ghana, coach Chris Hughton says he is the right person for the Ghana Job
Despite the devastating defeat, he remains resolute in his conviction that he is the ideal candidate for the coaching role with the Black Stars.
In a match that will be remembered for its one-sided nature, the Black Stars suffered a demoralizing 4-0 loss against the USA at the GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
This loss marks a new nadir for the Ghanaian national team, as they had never previously experienced such a heavy defeat against the United States in their past encounters.

Hughton, who had previously pledged to address the team’s issues following their 2-0 loss to Mexico four days earlier, endured yet another grim start, with the Black Stars conceding three goals within the initial 20 minutes.
Giovanni Reyna of the USA secured a brace, with Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun adding to Ghana’s woes during the first half.
Ghana struggled to regain a foothold in the game, managing only one shot on target throughout the match.
In response to a question during the post-match conference following the 4-0 loss to the USA, Chris Hughton issued an apology for the result and reaffirmed his confidence in his suitability for the position, stating, “If you ask me if I feel like I’m the right person for this job, the answer is yes.”
The Black Stars will return to action next month as they embark on the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
