Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, has taken accountability for Ghana’s late-game draw against Mozambique, a turn of events that now places the Black Stars on the brink of another group stage exit at the Africa Cup of Nations.

In a surprising turn, the Stars surrendered a two-goal lead within six minutes, settling for a 2-2 draw with Mozambique in their final Group B match at the Olympic Stadium in Abidjan on Monday night.

This outcome positions the Stars in 3rd place in the group, with a mere 2 points, requiring a miraculous turn of events to qualify as one of the four third-place teams.

Addressing the media during the post-game press conference, Hughton expressed his responsibility for the turn of events.

He said, “I take responsibility for this performance and admit my results with the Black Stars have not been good enough.”
